En el Museo Antropológico narra las experiencias educativas en el antiguo Ituzaingó.
“We start today, the museum of tomorrow, gathering archives from a past caught between amnesia and the desire not to forget. Exploring the natural phenomenon and man-made works, to increase the knowledge, culture, and enlightenment of the people. Fostering an integrated approach to cultural heritage, allowing a reconnection with one’s roots and the understanding of other cultures,” these are the words that denote the purpose of this museum.
Currently, the Anthropological Museum is open to the public with a significant number of objects. It preserves remains (tombs) belonging to the indigenous people who inhabited our region during the 18th century.
The material housed in the museum (lithic material) comes from excavations carried out by Dr. Jorge Amilcar Rodríguez in the Jasyreta area in the Department of Ituzaingó of the Guarani Ethnicity. It is possible to deduce its connection with other cultures, appreciating two lithic typologies: the Archaic (North of South America) and the Meridional (part of Uruguay). The cuneiform instruments are well defined and polished.
The museum’s collection spans an anthropological and archaeological range from 500 B.C. to 1100 A.D.
The building was created with the aim of exhibiting and preserving elements of primitive culture. It aims to maintain and value remains that carry the culture of primitive man from ancient times to the present day.
